Pintrest

Pinterest is a web and mobile application company that offers a visual discovery, collection, sharing, and storage tool. Users create and share the collections of visual bookmarks (boards). Boards are created through a user selecting an item, page, website, etc. and pinning it to an existing or newly created board. Users save and share pins from multiple resources onto boards based on a plethora of criteria, e.g. similar characteristics, a theme, birthday parties, planning a vacation, writing a book, interior decorating, holidays. Boards can develop projects, organize events, or save pictures and data together.

Houzz

Considered the "Wikipedia of interior and exterior design" by CNN, Houzz provides people with everything they need to improve their homes from start to finish. Get inspired with over two million high-resolution photos. Browse photos by style, room and location and save your favorites to idea books, making ideas easier to search, save, and share.

Homestyler Interior Design

Homestyler is a fully scalable 3D interior design app that lets you fill real interiors with actual furnishings that you can buy. You can take a picture of your room and place furniture on then virtually in 3D, arrange the light fixtures, put rugs, mirrors, paintings etc. and see the difference it will make all in3D. You can also browse the design ideas and share them with friends. And lastly, browse the portfolios of the pro designers near you.

EasyMeasure

If you’ve ever found yourself without a tape measure, EasyMeasure is your answer. This app will show the distance between objects as seen through your phone’s camera lens. When you boot the app, calibrate it; enter your height minus four inches to get to eye level. Utilizing a 3D-camera-overlay grid, the app makes it possible to calculate the distance between furniture in your living room. Just stand at one piece and aim the camera at the base of the other.

BrightNest

The company behind Angie’s List introduces BrightNest, a personalized reminder system for the maintenance tasks that homeowners commonly forget (e.g., changing smoke-detector batteries). BrightNest also asks users a set of questions to determine which of its thousands of cleaning, organizing, DIY, design, and maintenance tips show up in the app’s feed.

Zillow Digs

Last but certainly not least, the online real estate giant Zillow is debuting Zillow Digs, an iPhone and iPad app that allows users to share and find photos of remodeling projects and home decor. Users can personalize the decor and renovation inspiration that appears upon opening the app by indicating their style preferences.
